Vitafoods Europe Venue, Dates and Times

Vitafoods Europe was held in Geneva for the last time in 2024, it now moves to a new home in Barcelona from 2025.  It was the end of an era. We hope you had a productive and enjoyable show at the final edition in Switzerland.

History of Vitafoods Europe

In 1997, ten years after CPL Business Consultants was founded, Nick Hawker launched Vitafoods Europe to meet the growing demands of the emerging nutraceutical industry.  Nick believed there was a need for a dedicated exhibition and scientific conference to fill a gap in the market.

CPL Business Consultants has attended the event since the first edition. By 2019 the show welcomed more than 1,250 exhibitors and also over 25,000 visitors to the Palexpo Exhibition Hall. In 2021 it adopted a hybrid format, in-person at Palexpo and an online event running in parallel.

The Startup Innovation Challenge

Health, wellbeing, and nutraceutical startups can win a host of high-value prizes, as well as unparalleled exposure and networking opportunities with key industry stakeholders at Europe’s leading nutraceutical trade show, by participating in the Startup Innovation Challenge, which was part of Vitafoods Europe, running from 14 to 16 May 2024. Entry for the Startup Innovation Challenge closed on Friday 1 March.  The free-to-attend event was held in the Vitafoods Insights Theatre, K79 on 14 March 2024 following the schedule below:

  • 14:30 – 14:55 – Most Innovative Finished Nutraceutical Product
  • 15:00 – 15:25 – Most Innovative Nutraceutical Ingredient
  • 15:30 – 15:55 – Most Innovative Service, Technology, or Digital Solution Supporting the Nutraceutical Industry

Vitafoods Europe Conference

For 2 days, the Vitafoods Europe Conference offered a programme that addresses the current challenges and explores the immediate opportunities for the nutraceutical industry.

During the conference, experts from diverse areas will present solutions that are data-driven and evidence-based, latest research, ingredient insights, innovations and formulation strategies for:

  • Sports nutrition & active lifestyle
  • Immune and gut health
  • Cognitive & emotional health
  • Healthy ageing, longevity & metabolic health

Future of Nutrition Summit

The Future of Nutrition Summit was held at the Geneva Marriott Hotel on 13 May 2024, the day before the main Vitafoods Europe event.

Discussions focussed on ground-breaking advancements that will disrupt the industry.  Visionaries, leaders and experts shared their insights regarding the future of health, product development and retail.

The main topics were:

  • Future of retail: Unravelling the future of shopping

Nutrition Capital Network Europe Investor Meeting

The  Nutrition Capital Network (NCN) Europe Investor Meeting facilitates connections between high-growth nutrition companies, including consumer brands, science-backed ingredients, and enabling technologies, with opportunities for investment, licensing, and corporate partnerships.  Nutrition Capital Network (NCN) comprises a central team of founders and principals, complemented by the Selection Committee which includes CPL Business Consultant’s Managing Director, Dr Robert Harwood.

This committee plays a crucial role in assessing deal flow, mentoring companies during presentations, and facilitating interactions with investors and corporate partners. Presenting at the NCN Europe Investor Meeting allows direct engagement with venture teams from global leaders in ingredient innovation, fostering discussions on partnership, acquisition, and commercialization.  The meeting was held in collaboration with Vitafoods Europe and was scheduled for May 14, 2024, at the Vitafoods Europe event site in Room V, Hall 3, Palexpo.

The event included 15 company presentations as well as presentations on industry trends, education sessions and networking opportunities. Additionally, it included the free-to-attend Start-up Innovation Challenge held at the Vitafoods Insights Theatre, K79 at 14:30 on May 14 as described above.
